The goal of RAMS is to appoint the competent personnel to carry out each activity, to make it easy enough for any employee to pick up the method statement and understand the safe procedure to conduct the activity. It specifies a very clear schedule to ensure the safety of employees (and or contractors) involved with a given activity, particularly when special measures are required to be implemented e.g., if electricity is required to be isolated in an area of a building, or part of a construction site is closed temporarily.
RAMS are commonly used in sectors such as construction; they fall under ‘The Construction (Design and Management) Regulation 2015’.
